Rise up, my love

St Chad's Church, Shrewsbury
Musical settings of texts from the Song of Songs (also called the Song of Solomon), celebrating both human and divine love, this concert also marks the 500th anniversary of the birth of Palestrina. A selection from his Canticum Canticorum will feature alongside music by his contemporaries Lassus, Victoria and Clemens non Papa, and contrasted with composers from the 20th and 21st centuries, including René Clausen, Ola Gjeilo and Eleanor Daley. This very special concert will conclude with David Bednall's Rise up, my love.
